Though this baby was a big, fat surprise to us, she was no surprise to God. This isn't exactly the timing we would have chosen, but for some reason, it's the timing that God has chosen.
We're already seeing some of the blessings of being pregnant now; namely, I've had a ridiculous amount of help both at my in-laws' and now at my parents' house. Ive hardly had to cook at all, which is a huge struggle for me during first trimesters, so not having to gag at raw meat has been a tremendous blessing.
Also, my energy level has been really, really low which is a problem with two super active boys. Having Michael and, again, my parents around has been great. We're pretty sure this is our last biological child (we're really open to the idea of foster/adoption) so I'm trying to enjoy (:/) this as much as possible.
It has been fun to see how Jonathan's concept of a baby in my tummy has evolved from when I was pregnant with Caleb. Jonathan is really protective of my tummy and says all the time, "Can I (do whatever)...I promise I won't hurt the baby!" He loves to kiss it and talk to it and whenever anyone asks if he wants a brother or a sister he adamantly says, "A sister." (with NO prompting from me--I promise!).
That's it for now--we'll keep ya updated!
We'll keep ya updated!
